Nothing in this process is a black box. The finished recipe is even printed on your label.
How does the scent quiz work?
The quiz asks 8 questions and takes about 3 minutes. It covers the impression you want your scent to make, the style that describes you, the occasions you wear it for, how intense it should be — and the scent directions you love or want ruled out. It is free, with no obligation to buy.
Every question has a job. Your answer about impact shapes the character. Style and occasion form the profile. Your dislikes exclude entire note families before composition even begins. You are not filling in a form — you are making eight decisions.
Can 8 questions really create an individual perfume?
Yes — because your answers don't select a finished product, they define a recipe. From a library of 60 notes, our composition engine chooses 13 to 15 for top, heart and base, and sets the weight of every single one. The result is not a match pulled from a shelf. It is a formula that did not exist before you answered.
That is the difference between IDENTÉ and every fragrance finder: a finder searches existing bottles. We compose a new one.
What does the technology do — and what stays handmade?
The technology composes — the craft completes. The engine does the compositional work: it translates your profile into notes, weightings and a concentration. Everything after that is done by hand — your Extrait is filled by hand in Germany, labelled and dated.
To us, technology is a tool, not a selling point. Your label doesn't name any software. It names your formula.
Do you see your formula before you buy?
Yes, in full. Right after the quiz you see your scent profile and the complete formula — every note across top, heart and base — before you decide anything. The quiz is free and non-binding.
You order once what you see convinces you. Not the other way around.
How is your perfume made?
Production starts only after you order — there is no warehouse and no pre-made stock. In Germany, your recipe is prepared and filled by hand into the 50 ml bottle. Production takes 3 to 5 business days; shipping within Germany takes another 1 to 2 — free of charge.
What you receive is an Extrait de Parfum with 20–25% perfume oil — noticeably more concentrated than a typical eau de parfum. Which concentration you get is decided by your answer to the intensity question in the quiz. The price: €79 for 50 ml. As a trio of three bottles: €199.
What is printed on the label?
Everything. The 70 × 70 mm label carries your first name, your scent profile and the complete formula — every note with its weight. It also states the concentration, the filling date, a unique batch number and a QR code for authenticity verification.
We print the recipe because it is the best part of your perfume. A scent that merely claims to be individual needs secrets. Yours doesn't.

What if the scent isn't right?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it for a full refund. And before it comes to that, we will adjust your formula together if you wish: you tell us what is missing, we refine the recipe. A perfume composed for you should feel exactly that way.
